Biography

 Ronald Rebutica, a native of Ligao, Albay, Philippines, obtained his BA in Communication Arts with a Major in Audio Visual Communication from Bicol University in 2008.

 

He has accumulated extensive experience in the film and TV industry, having worked as a segment producer, editor, and cameraman for 6 years at ABS-CBN RNG Bicol since 2010. Simultaneously, he established himself as an event videographer, focusing on weddings.

 

Throughout the years, Ronald has received accolades for his cinematography, including the Best Short Film award at the Peñafrancia Short Film Festival in 2013. His exceptional work as a cinematographer was recognized with the Best in Cinematography awards at the World Premiere Film Festival in 2015 and 2016 for his contributions to "An Kubo sa Kawayanan" and "EDSA" directed by Alvin Yapan. In 2017, Ronald was nominated for Best in Cinematography at the Tofarm Film Festival for his work on the film "What Home Feels Like" starring Bembol Roco. He also gained experience operating cinema cameras for notable films such as "Changing Partners" and "All of You", directed by Dan Villegas and starring Agot Isidro, Jennelyn Mercado, and Derek Ramsey. Additionally, he served as the director of photography for Korina Sanchez's documentary "HIV Rising", which was a finalist at the 2020 New York Festivals TV and Film Awards. 

 

In the midst of the pandemic, Ronald produced a digital video talk show at St. Stephen Protomartyr Parish Church alongside Monsigñor Ramon Tronqued.

 

In July 2021, Ronald and his wife, Chazzy, relocated to Canada, where Ronald initially worked as a machine operator. Later, he resumed his career in videography and film editing at a studio in Vaughan. In 2023, he established his own event and film production company, Artfilm Canada, specializing in event videography and film production. Notably, he produced a 3-episode series titled "Little Manila" in November 2023, entirely shot in North York, Ontario, and available on his YouTube account.
